Production system SYNCHRO at TRUMPF

Not only products but also processes need to be continuously refined and perfected.

The aim of this improvement process is to fine-tune the use of manpower, material and equipment so as to minimize waste in production. We refer to this systematic procedure as synchronized production system – or SYNCHRO in short.

SYNCHRO has thoroughly revolutionized production at TRUMPF. The sharp increase in parts quantities and the call for shorter delivery times while keeping stock levels low convinced us that something had to change.

In 1988, TRUMPF switched its assembly philosophy away from static station assembly to flow assembly, even for the large punch-laser machines.

Since then, SYNCHRO has really taken off, especially in the areas of quality management and in maintenance and upkeep. SYNCHRO has since become the common production philosophy in the TRUMPF production network.
