TruPunch 5000

The world’s most productive punching machine.

Taking a good thing and making it even better – that’s what we do. The TruPunch 5000 is an improvement on its predecessor mainly due to even faster and higher-quality processing. Improved processes make it possible – they increase the dynamics and decrease non-productive time. So you are ideally equipped for future market demands.

Application Punching and forming
Category High-End machine
Working range - 2550 mm x 1280 mm or
- 3070 mm x 1660 mm
Tools, Linear magazine - 18 tools with 3 clamps
- 21 tools with 4 clamps
Max. sheet thickness 8 mm
Automation From semi-automatic loading to fully-automatic manufacturing cell, shredding scrap skeletons

The acceleration figures make the TruPunch 5000 so efficient. We achieve these figures by using lightweight components and tool cartridges. The X-axis accelerates at 2 g to a maximum speed of 100 m/min.

An additional feature is the gantry drive on the Y-axis: Two separate drive motors are synchronously controlled with no mechanical connection to provide high acceleration and accuracy.

With 330 revolutions per minute, it can orient tools in any position. It takes the TruPunch 5000 only 2.8 seconds to change tools. With the MultiTool, it takes only 0.3 seconds.

Forming at close to punching speed
The TruPunch 5000 punches at a hit rate of up to 1,200 strokes/min or up to 2,800 strokes/min when marking. At the same time, the acceleration rate and the speed of C axis rotation have increased significantly; this, in turn, enables contouring and tapping at high speed.

  • Hit rate: 1200 strokes per minute, 2800 when marking
  • Rotation: The C axis rotates at 330 rpm
  • High-speed forming: Variable forming height makes for short stroke lengths, forming almost at punching speed

Innovative tools
TRUMPF offers tools tailored to meet your specific requirements. The punch, stripper and die are monitored by sensors during tool change, thereby ensuring process reliability.
More

For example:
  • Deburring: Roller deburring tool and deburring MultiTool displace the burr and chamfer the edges.
  • MulitBend: Produce right-angled bends on outer and inner edges up to 25 mm
  • MultiShear: By using this tool, it is virtually impossible to differentiate between a punched and a lasered edge
  • Roller technology: Enables roller shearing, roller beading, roller offsetting and roller pinching

Avoid scratches

The TruPunch 5000 can be equipped with the active die which works from the bottom like a second punching head. The active die enables scratch-free punching and forming at an unrivaled speed. When you position the sheet metal, the die moves down so that it cannot touch the sheet. This is true for punching as well as for higher forming dies.
With the active die you expand the forming options of your TruMatic 7000. Higher upward forming can be actively performed in the sheet. In addition, the active die has room for larger tools and makes it possible to form closer to the clamps, because the sheet is always evenly supported. This results in higher material utilization and a reduced scrap.

Automation - tailored for high productivity
Thanks to its modular automation concept, the TruPunch 5000 can be expanded into a system for fully automated operation, with every finished part being removed automatically.
